Permanent Residency in Thailand HP Bangkok Immigration Lawyers

H&P Law firm in Thailand would like to share this legal update that Thailand Immigration Department at Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok just announced a few days ago the timeframe to accept Permanent Residence applications from 16th of October to 29th of December 2023.

As we mentioned in our previous legal update on May 2023, “The Requirements and Process to Obtain Permanent Residency in Thailand”, the applicant should have a period of residence of no less than 3 years from the date of application submission.

The non-refundable government fees are 7,600 THB per applicant but if your Permanent Residence application in Thailand is granted then the applicant will need to pay 191,400 THB.

In the opinion of our H&P Immigration law practice team, some of the advantages of the PR are:

-You will gain stability in terms of immigration, with no more 90 days reporting and no need to monitor your visa every year.
-Access to credit facilities and financial instruments from Thai Banks.
-You do not need to bring funds from abroad and obtain FET from the bank to purchase a condominium unit
-Finally, after 5 years holding a Permanent Residency, you can apply for Thai Citizenship.
