Benefits of the LTR
The main difference with other visas and the advantages for the LTR Visa holder are:
-LTR visa valid for 10 years (renewable)
-Receive the right to be exempted to follow the employment ratio of 4 Thai employees to 1 foreigner
-Have the right to use special channels (Fast Track) in entering and exiting the Kingdom at international airports that have special channel services
-1-year report instead of 90-day report at the immigration office
-Eligible for Digital Work Permit
-Personal Income tax exemption for income brought to Thailand
-Multiple re-entry permit
-Visa and work permit facilitation at the Visa and Work Permit Service Center (OSS)
Who can apply for this visa?
Based on H&P practice and professional experience, this visa is not for everyone as the applicant must comply with certain requirements and profile as follows:
-Retiree age at 50 years and older
-Pension or personal passive income of at least USD 80,000/year at the time of application OR
-Passive income below USD 80,000/year but no less than USD 40,000/year, the applicant must invest at least USD 250,000 in Thai government bonds, foreign direct investment, or Thai property
-Health insurance with at least USD 50,000 coverage or social security benefits insuring treatment in Thailand or at least USD 100,000 deposit
-Income from employment or self-employed is not considered passive income (not acceptable). Passive income includes the following;
Pensions
Interest
Rent
Dividends
What is the application process for LTR in Thailand?
H&P visa experts and immigration lawyers in Thailand, will assist you to prepare a successful application for LTR following this proceeding
-Application submission via online
-The applicant will receive the result in 20 days after the application submission is complete
-Visa issuance at One Stop Service in Bangkok or Royal Thai Embassy/Thai Consulate in abroad within 60 days from the date of qualification LTR approval letter. The visa will be issued for 10 years valid with the fee of THB 50,000/applicant (Multiple Entry)
-Applicant who works in Thailand is eligible to request a Digital Work Permit at the visa and work permit service center (OSS) in Bangkok with the fee of THB 3,000/applicant/year
-Spouses and dependents (Spouse or children under 20 years old of LTR Visa holders with maximum 4 dependents in total per one LTR visa holder). Requirements are follows:
Health insurance with at least USD 50,000 coverage of social security benefits insuring treatment in Thailand or at least USD 25,000 deposit
Must be the legal dependents (spouse and children)
Visa fee of THB 50,000/applicant
